Cornwall Day Five - Antony

I can never resist opportunities to squeeze a little more value out of the old National Trust card, hence the visit to this gem of a house and garden. You can see why it was chosen as the setting for Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland, there's a magical atmosphere about the place.

This tree has apparently put out a massive root to the right to counterbalance the huge branch on the left!

The house is an excellent example of Classical architecture.

  1. I recognize the house. It must have been used in some Masterpiece Theatre episode or Jane Austin movie. I did not see Alice in Wonderland. The views from the house/garden are stunning/

  2. It's been used for a number of films I think. The National Trust actively encourage this as it raises valuable funds to keep the properties in good order.
